Release 8.1.3: New in Diagnostic DesktopTopic number: 1496927434213

The following features are new in the Diagnostic Desktop for Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging release 8.1.3.

Enhancements to the context menu for active, comparison, additional comparison studies, and teaching files

The context menu is now available on the Active studies, Comparison studies, Additional comparison studies (+), and Teaching files (Teaching files) tabs in the Image area. To use the context menu, in the Image area, click the patient banner, right-click a study, and select a command.

Two new options have been added to the context menu on the Active studies and Comparison studies tabs: Add to list and Add to conference.

See Displaying comparison studies, Adding studies to a collection list, and Creating teaching files.

Each keyword attachment can be configured as separate search field and column

For each available keyword attachment, you can configure a separate search field in the Search area, and a separate column in the task and study lists in the List and Search area.

See Adding keyword attachments, Customizing search fields, and Customizing study list and other columns.

Playback of preliminary reports

You can now use any audio devices to record and playback digital dictations. Use SpeechMike to ensure sufficient recording quality.

See Viewing reports.

New default study attachment Confidentiality code

The new default study attachment of keyword type Confidentiality code is available. It has values such as HIV related and psychiatry related.

See Patient and study confidentiality.

Manually assigned procedure plans no longer fall back to default automatically

If a procedure plan was manually assigned to a procedure, then this procedure is changed via an ORM message or during an order review workflow, this procedure plan no longer automatically switches to the default procedure plan for the current procedure. It stays unchanged.

See Reviewing an order.

Text area: Add studies to conferences and lists

From the Text area, you can add studies to conferences and collection lists by using the commands Add to conference and Add to list, respectively, that are now available in the context menu on the Active and Comparison studies tabs.

See Manually adding discussion tasks to a conference and Adding studies to a collection list.

Launching multiple desktops no longer possible

Unless you are working in a Citrix environment, you can no longer launch:

  • Multiple desktops on the same workstation
  • The same desktop as a different user
  • Different versions of the same desktop

Only the Administrator Desktop can still be launched in combination with another desktop.

See Logging in to Enterprise Imaging desktops.

Studies can be segmented to orders that already contain images

When segmenting a study, the list of target studies you can segment the source images into now also includes studies that already contain images.

See Segmenting a study.

Hanging protocol permissions

Access to the hanging protocol gallery is now permission-controlled. To be able to cut, copy, paste, and move hanging protocols and presentation groups in the hanging protocol gallery, the Can make changes to the hanging protocol gallery permission is required. To also be able to delete, edit, update, and save hanging protocols and presentation groups, the Can create and edit hanging protocols permission is required.

See Hanging protocols, presentation groups, and viewports.

Language support

Online help for the Diagnostic Desktop, Acquisition Desktop, Medical Secretary Desktop, Clinician Desktop, and mobile applications is now available in Polish.

My selection list for studies and tasks

Studies that you open and tasks that you start, resume, or continue are added to the My selection list.

They remain there for the duration of the session, unless they are completed or canceled. If you have to switch to another task while working through the list, you can later resume work where you left off.

See My selection list, Setting List area options, and Activities overviews contents: To do, follow-up, and conference lists.

Image and series deletion

You can delete whole series from the Image area context menu and the Clinical sidebar. You are required to provide a reason for doing so.

See Deleting an image, Deleting a series, and Clinical sidebar overview.

Interruption snapshots

If this feature is enabled, Enterprise Imaging automatically creates an interruption snapshot whenever you leave a study. When you return to the study, Enterprise Imaging automatically applies the interruption snapshot to restore the Image area to the saved state.

See Snapshots: Concepts.

Curved planar reconstruction (CPR)

When you create a centerline, the CPR is no longer oriented with the starting point at the top and the final point at the bottom. Regardless of the order in which points are set, the orientation of the CPR is vertically upright, from head to feet.

See Reconstructing a curved plane.

Multiplanar reconstruction (MPR) localizer lines

By default, localizer lines no longer display with an outline. To adjust the slice thickness, use the slider in the series toolbar.

See Multiplanar reconstruction (MPR) and Adjusting slice thickness.

Mammography: Shutters and implant masks

To better assess mammography images, you can hide implant masks when images load so that they do not obscure the view of breast tissue. You can also show or hide shutters and implant masks for the current study using the context menu, or by creating a keyboard shortcut.

See Mammography image presentation.

Mammography: Keyboard shortcuts

Configurable keyboard shortcuts have been added for the following:

  • Toggling shutters and implant masks on and off
  • Toggling between mammography (2D MG) images and digital breast tomosynthesis (3D DBT) images
  • Navigating between previous (Alt + G) and next (Alt + H) comparison studies

See Setting keyboard shortcuts for the Image area.

Navigation linking

Simple navigation linking enables you to manually link series into groups which navigate in sync. Clicking viewports modifies these groups. You can also perform advanced linking with the linking editor. The 3D sync tool, similarly, enables you to create 3D sync groups by clicking viewports.

These tools can be accessed from the Image area top toolbar, from the context menu, or from keyboard shortcuts.

See Series linking: Overview and Synchronizing 3D series.
