The active study is indicated with a check mark.
- Double-click any other study in the active or comparison studies list.
- Right-click the active study. Select Compare images.
- In the Image area:
- Click the patient banner.
Ensure you click the patient banner on the screen where you want to display the comparison study.
- Double-click the comparison study to display or right-click it and select Compare images.
- Click the patient banner.
The comparison study is opened in the Text area. Its images are displayed in the Image area using the hanging protocol that is configured for comparison studies. This overrides the previously used hanging protocol
Depending on the screen you opened the study list on, certain rules apply (see examples).
1
You are working with a three screen setup: one List/Text area monitor (A) and two diagnostic monitors (B and C). Monitor A shows the Text area with the report information. Monitors B and C show the active study in a 2-screen hanging protocol layout.
If you display the comparison study on monitor B, it will override both diagnostic monitors and you will see only the comparison study with a 2-screen hanging protocol layout.
If you display the comparison study on monitor C, you will see the active study on monitor B, and the comparison study with a 1-screen hanging protocol layout on monitor C.
2
You are working with a five screen setup: one List/Text area monitor (A) and four diagnostic monitors (B, C, D, and E). Monitor A shows the Text area with the report information. The four diagnostic monitors show the active study in a 4-screen hanging protocol layout.
If you display the comparison study on monitor D, you will see the active study on monitors B and C, and the selected comparison study on monitor D; monitor E will show no study. You can now apply a 2-screen hanging protocol from the hanging protocol gallery on monitor D to display the comparison study on both D and E in a 2-screen layout. Alternatively you can display another comparison study on monitor E.
![]() | Tip: If you are using multiple monitors, you can also use the Clinical sidebar to display images ad hoc in the List/Text area monitor without needing to configure hanging protocols. See Displaying images on the List/Text area monitor. |
