You can specify default options for the Image area, such as series display, image quality, and composition type.

To set Image area display options
  1. Select Tools > Options.
  2. In the Options dialog, click Images. Images
  3. On the Display tab, configure the following settings:

    Display modality images as a single seriesThis represents a series of options for several different modalities. If you select one of these options, all images in a study from that modality are displayed as a single series.

    Modalities include CR and DX, US, RF, CT, NM, and XA.

    Multi 3D images are always grouped as a single series. Select the Display multi 3D images as a single series checkbox to display a multi 3D series as collapsed by default. Clear the checkbox to display it as expanded by default.

    For US and XA modalities, each multi-frame object is displayed as a separate series.

    Use advanced multi 3D functionality Select this checkbox to group a series of the same spatial location but different temporal position, and be able to expand or collapse it within the Clinical sidebar.

    When the checkbox is cleared, the series are not grouped.

    Expand all multi 3D sub seriesWhen Use advanced multi 3D functionality is enabled, select this checkbox to initially expand the grouped series in the Clinical sidebar. When the checkbox is cleared, initially the grouped series is collapsed within the Clinical sidebar.
    Expand all studies in the sidebarSelect this checkbox to expand all studies in the clinical sidebar.
    Image display on monitorsSelect Lossy or Lossless as the image display quality for current and comparison studies. Normally, lossless is selected for the current study. The default for this setting is Lossless to avoid significant impact on the Core Server.
    Default presentation group for editing registrationSelect MPR Registration 3x2 or MPR Fusion Registration as the default presentation group for editing registration.
    Default composition type for thick renditionsFor MPR and Cross section and for CPR, select one of the intensity options: Average, MinIP (Minimum Intensity Projection), or MIP (Maximum Intensity Projection).
  4. From the Save new options for list, select User, Desktop profile, or This session only.

    User is the default; it sets the options for this and future sessions. Desktop profile, if available, set the options for all users of that desktop profile, except where overridden by user options.

  5. Click Save or Save & close.
