The Diagnostic Desktop is a single point of entry for all information, image viewing, and speech recognition features related to medical imaging.
- List area: Take a tour
  When the desktop opens, the List area appears. The List area is a dashboard that contains navigation controls, an actions toolbar, started tasks listings, activities overviews, and lists. You can manage and start all your work in the List area.
- Search: Take a tour
  The Search page contains search criteria and a panel for viewing search results. You can perform a simple or advanced search of the local system, a local folder, a CD/DVD drive, a DICOM device or an Enterprise search across multiple internal and external systems.
- Text area: Take a tour
  To work in the Text area, from the List area, start any task or open a study.
- Image area: Take a tour
  The Image area displays the study images associated with the current task and combines all image display, manipulation, and enhancement tools for reading.
- Logging in to Enterprise Imaging desktops
  You can log in to and use any Enterprise Imaging desktop if you have a valid username and password, as well as the required permissions, desktop profile, and license.
- Switching to a specific Enterprise Imaging cluster
  If you have multiple Enterprise Imaging clusters that serve as production, test, AUX, or VNA systems, click the tray icon to switch between these clusters.
- Using this Help system
  The Help system includes features that help you search and navigate the content, print topics, and provide feedback on the documentation.

Performing quality control
Quality control is a process of aligning the data about patients with their images, which come from different sources. Quality control is an automatic step in the unverified study workflow, but it can also be performed manually.
Accessing desktop integrations from client desktops
You can access and use third-party applications that are integrated with Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging from client desktops.
Finding studies
To find studies, use either the simple or the advanced search interface.
Customizing the desktop look and feel options
Define Collaborator, list, and search options at the user, desktop, or system level.
Maintaining security and access
In Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging, sets of access-controlled features are combined into permission sets. One or more permission sets are included security roles. Security roles are assigned to users.
Troubleshooting: Log files and known limitations
Use system log files supplied with Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging for basic troubleshooting.
Keyboard shortcuts
Use the keyboard shortcuts for quick access to your everyday tasks.
Testing the connection speed
Your administrator might ask you to communicate the bandwidth and latency values to optimize the configuration for your workstation in Administrator desktop.

1	Top toolbar	Tools for image display, measurements, hanging protocols, and so on.
2	Viewport	Image or series: The view type depends on selected hanging protocol.
3	Status bar	Magnification factor, pixel value, and window level value.
4	Open studies / Clinical sidebar	Available images for the open studies. When available, also displays clinical applications and tools.
