You can customize which fields are displayed on desktop details screens, in what order, for one user or for all users.
To customize fields
- Log into a desktop that contains the fields to customize.
- In the Text area, right-click the pane to customize and select Customize fields.
- In the Customize Fields dialog, beside Columns, click the button
representing the number of columns of data to display.
Tip:
With the Show preview checkbox selected (as it is by default), the effect of changes you make in this dialog are immediately previewed on the page. - To specify which fields to display and which to hide, use the arrows to
move data elements to and from the Available data elements and Displayed data elements
lists.
You can also include dividers.
- To set the order in which the fields appear on-screen, select an item
in the Displayed data elements pane, and click the Up and Down arrows.
- To make some data span columns, select the item in the Displayed fields
pane and click the Details on the selected data
element link. From the Column span list, select a value from 1 to 4.Example:To display Remarks across two columns, select 2.
- Under Save new settings for, select one of the following:
- User—Select the name of the user. The settings are displayed for that user at their next login. If you save changes for the logged-in user, they appear immediately after you click OK.
- Desktop profile—Select the desktop profile name. The settings apply to all users using that desktop profile, providing that these users have nothing configured at the user or session levels.
- System—The settings apply to all users who do not have any settings configured on either session, user, or desktop profile levels.
Available options are permission-based.
- Click OK.
Required permissions: Can customize text fields for themselves only, Can customize text fields for themselves and their desktop profile, or Can customize text fields for all levels. (For more on permissions, see Security roles: Concepts.)
