Calculating the pressure half time (PHT)Topic number: 1425412549325

Use the PHT tool to calculate the pressure half time on Doppler ultrasound images.

Prerequisite

This tool can only be used on images or regions of images where the unit of the vertical direction is compatible with meter per seconds and the unit of the horizontal direction is compatible with seconds (Doppler US).

Pressure half time measurements
To calculate the pressure half time
  1. In the Image area top toolbar, click the arrow next to the ruler to open the markup list and select Ultrasound > PHT. PHT
  2. Click the point of the peak velocity (1) in the Doppler region of the ultrasound image to place the first handle of the markup.

The second handle of the markup is automatically displayed on the baseline (velocity = 0 m/s).

  3. Move the second handle (2) along the baseline to the correct position and click to finalize the markup.

A vertical line (3) is displayed at the point where the gradient is half its maximum initial value. PHT is calculated and displayed in milliseconds (4).
