The rectangular shutter tool can be used to mask or black out portions of an image (usually the outer edges) so that a particular area is the focal point for viewing.

To create a shutter
- From the Image area top toolbar, click .
- Click to place the top left point defining the rectangular shutter.
- Move your pointer to determine the size of the shutter.
The area that will be masked is grayed out.
- Click to place the bottom right point of the rectangle, completing the
shutter.
Any part of the image outside of the shutter is masked.
- Press Esc to deactivate the shutter tool.
