Displaying a histogramTopic number: 1425412365865

Select a region of interest and display a histogram graph showing the frequency of pixel values inside that region by using the Histogram tool.

WARNING!

Histograms are calculated based on pixel values representing data values. These do not change if window leveling or other post-processing is applied to the image. Do not rely on histograms alone for making a diagnosis.
To display a histogram
  1. From the Image area top toolbar, click Distance measurement > Statistics > Histogram.
  2. Click to place the first handle to start defining the region of interest.
  3. Click to place further handles to define the outline of the region.
  4. Double-click to place the last handle, completing the outline.
  5. Press Esc to deactivate the histogram tool.

A histogram graph calculated based on the pixel values in the selected area is displayed. The x-axis displays the range of pixel values contained in the region of interest (for example, for CT this is Hounsfield units). The y-axis displays the frequency of each pixel value within the region of interest.
