Use the LV distance tool to measure the interventricular septum (IVS), the left ventricle internal dimension (LVID), and the left ventricular posterior wall (LVPW) on M-mode ultrasound images.

To measure the left ventricle
  1. In the Image area top toolbar, click the arrow next to the ruler to open the markup list and select Ultrasound > LV distance.
  2. Click one end of the IVS to place the first handle (1).
  3. Click the other end of the IVS to place the second handle (2).

    The thickness of the IVS is displayed.

  4. Click one end of the LVPW to place the third handle (3).

    The LVID is displayed.

  5. Click the other end of the LVPW to place the fourth handle (4).

    The thickness of the LVPW is displayed.
