Importing external studiesTopic number: 1425411995822

You can import external studies into Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging from locations such as PACS archives, network drives, and DICOM devices or from an Enterprise search across multiple external systems.

The imported study could be used as a comparison study, or have to be reported.

When you import an external study, the header information might not be immediately available. The series is therefore split and sorted based on the series instance UID. When the header information becomes available, you can apply a different hanging protocol to apply the splitting and sorting based on the header information.

Note:

The print, export, and delete image functionality is not available in the Image area for external studies.
To import external studies
  1. In the navigation toolbar, click Search. Search
  2. From the In list, select the external or Enterprise search location to search.

The default location is System, which finds only internal studies.

  3. Optionally type or select values for one or more search criteria options.
  4. Click Search.
  5. In the results, select one or more studies to import.
  6. Right-click and select one of the following commands:
    • Import Import—The studies are imported into Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging
    • Import and create reading task Import and create reading task—A reading task is automatically assigned to every imported study
    • Open Open—The studies are displayed but are imported only into the web cache, not permanently

If the Import options are not available, the studies are not stored in an external location (or you do not have permission to import).

  7. In the Confirmation dialog, click Import.

If the import starts but does not complete successfully, the external system might not be configured with the appropriate AE title or the default DICOM Import pipelines might have the wrong properties enabled. Contact your system administrator for assistance.

WARNING!

To ensure patient safety, the user must check the imported data before using it for diagnosis.

Imported external studies are marked as unverified if they cannot automatically be matched with an existing patient study. You can search for the patient information and manually merge it.
