Studies and securityTopic number: 1425411927367

Your security roles determine what patient health information you see, which actions you are allowed to perform, and what configuration you can do. Your job titles, specialties, or task assignment groups have no influence on this.

The following information can be restricted by security filters:

  • Patient demographics
  • Patient medical history
  • Link to the patient record system
  • Procedures
  • Medical reports
  • Medical dictations
  • Study attachments
  • Report contributors

Restrictions apply even if the list query, search criteria, or relevancy rules include those studies and tasks. Security filters are evaluated each time a task or study is opened in the Text area.

Tip:

Security filters can limit read access on linked studies, causing you to not have all relevant medical data needed to perform tasks. For example, you might be permitted to view CT studies but not MR studies. You can then use emergency access functionality, if you have the permission, to view the task or study.

If you try to view a multi-procedure task and you are not allowed to view all the linked studies due to security filters, an error message appears. The same happens if you attempt to view a multi-procedure study (sharing the same report or belonging to the same requested procedure).
