Canceling procedures in orders Topic number: 1425411815100
You can cancel procedures from the Text area.
Until all procedure steps and related tasks are completed, you can edit the name and code of a procedure.
- In the Search or List area, select and right-click one or more items
and select
.
- On the Order info tab, click the Cancel button on the same line as the
procedure to cancel.
If canceling is not possible, the button is not displayed.
- Optionally, type a reason for canceling.
- If available, from the Billing codes for
cancellation and Modifiers for
cancellation lists, select one or more billing codes and modifiers for
cancellation.
These lists are available if billing codes and modifiers are configured for the coding system that you are using. If you are canceling several procedures for which billing codes and modifiers are configured, the lists are available for each procedure.
The selected billing codes and modifiers are also added to the Billing field in the Text area.
- Click Cancel anyway.
The procedure status is Canceled. In the Text area, the text of canceled and discontinued studies shown on the Active
or Comparison or All studies tabs is struck through.
If an active study is canceled or discontinued during a task for this study, the text of this study is struck through after the Text area is reloaded.
Canceled comparison studies without a report or images are not shown on the Comparison or All studies tab in the Text area, or they disappear from the Comparison or All studies tab after the Text area is reloaded.
Whether or not preparation, acquisition, follow-up, and order review tasks linked to the canceled procedure are canceled is configured by your administrator.
