On the PDF/Image Attachments page, you can add, edit, and delete patient attachments.

To add, edit, and delete PDF/image attachments
  1. Do one of the following:
    WhereSteps
    In the Search or List area
    • Right-click a study or an order and select PDF/Image attachments.
    • or
    • Select a study or an order and select More > PDF/Image attachments.
    In the Text areaOn the Patient info tab, click the PDF/Image attachments link. If the link does not appear, first add it by performing these steps:
    1. Right-click anywhere and select Customize fields.
    2. From the Available data elements list, select PDF/Image attachments and click Move. Right arrow
    3. Click OK.

    Note:

    The option PDF/Image attachments is enabled only for internal studies and saved patients.

    All PDF/image attachments for a patient, including order and study attachments, are listed.

    You can filter attachments by typing or selecting criteria and clicking Search.

    Tip:

    To display attachments only at the patient level, clear other levels such as Order and Study, and click Search.
  2. To add an image or PDF file:
    1. Click New.
    2. From the Attachment list, select the attachment associated with the new image or PDF file.

      The names are configured by your administrator.

    3. Do one of the following:
    Option Details
    Scan (or Advanced scan)Follow the scanner instructions.

    Tip:

    To ensure that scanned documents have optimal quality, adjust your workstation settings as follows: Select Tools > Workstation and, from the Color mode list, select Grayscale. Click Save & close.
    BrowseIn the Open dialog, navigate to the PDF or image file to add, select it, and click Open.

    The maximum size of files that can be attached is 3 MB.

  3. To change the type attachment a file is associated with, select it and click Edit. From the Attachment list, select another option, and click OK.
  4. To delete an attachment, select it and click Delete. In the Confirmation dialog, click Delete.

  • Can add study level attachments
  • Can change workstation configurations
  • Can customize text fields for themselves only, Can customize text fields for themselves and their desktop profile, or Can customize text fields for all levels

  • Can search order level attachments
  • Can search patient level attachments
  • Can search study level attachments
