Adding and viewing hyperlink attachments Topic number: 1425412148176

Two types of hyperlink attachments, custom and permanent, are available. You can add and view custom hyperlinks, but only view permanent ones.

You can add custom hyperlinks to patients, reports, orders, or studies. Permanent hyperlinks, such as the link to the electronic patient record (EPR), are configured by the system administrator; you cannot edit them but only click them to open a web page.

Hyperlink attachments are displayed only if configured by your system administrator. If needed, to delete and add hyperlinks, contact your system administrator to change your permissions or the attachment configuration settings.

To add and view hyperlink attachments
  1. In the Text area, navigate to the patient, report, order, or study information.

    The number of hyperlinks available is displayed inside brackets.

  2. If the attachment is not visible, follow these steps:
    1. Right-click and select Customize fields.
    2. From the Available data elements list, select the attachment and click Move. Right arrow
    3. Click Save.

    If the attachment has content, the hyperlink is now visible.

  3. Click the hyperlink.

    The browser opens the requested page.

  4. To close the web page, click Back to {patient | report | order | study}.
  5. To delete a hyperlink, click Delete. Delete
  6. To add a hyperlink, do the following:
    1. In the Text area, next to the attachment link, click the plus icon. Add link
    2. In the browser address bar, type the URL, and click Go.
    3. Select Add hyperlink to {patient | report | order | study}, and click OK.
    4. Accept the displayed name or type another, and click OK.

    The hyperlink is added.

  • Can add order level attachments
  • Can add patient level attachments
  • Can add report level attachments
  • Can add study level attachments
  • Can customize text fields for themselves only, Can customize text fields for themselves and their desktop profile, or Can customize text fields for all levels
  • Can delete order level attachments
  • Can delete patient level attachments
  • Can delete report level attachments
  • Can delete study level attachments
  • Can view order level attachments
  • Can view patient level attachments
  • Can view report level attachments
  • Can view study level attachments
