Unless the study is protected, you can permanently delete a whole series from within the Image area.

Reading images
To view and analyze images, use the Image area tools.
- Image area: Basic tasks
  The Image area combines all image display, manipulation, and enhancement tools for reading in Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging.
  - Image area context menu
    With the Image area context menu, you can use the pointer to access a selection of relevant tools without leaving the current image.
  - Switching between stacked and tiled displays of series
    Switch the layout of displayed series between stacked and tiled views.
  - Starting extended viewing tools for XERO Viewer
    You can start the extended viewing tools for XERO Viewer from the collaborator tool to share the Image area with other people.
  - Cine: Series playback
    Play back all images in a series as a continuous cine (like an animation) or frame-by-frame.
  - Playing a video in the Image area
    Videos stored in or attached to studies can be played back in the Image area.
  - Interactive areas
    With interactive areas, you can access the main Image area tools without moving the pointer away from an image.
  - Displaying an image in full screen
    You can display an image in full screen layout.
  - Inverting an image
    Use Invert to reverse the grayscale values in images.
  - Resetting all Image area changes
    Use Reset all images to loaded state to reset all changes to all images since the study was opened.
  - Deleting an image
    Unless the study is protected, you can permanently delete images from the Image area.
  - Deleting a series
    Unless the study is protected, you can permanently delete a whole series from within the Image area.
  - Creating a secondary capture
    Secondary captures are copies of either one image or all screens. When you create a secondary capture, all measurements and annotations are saved as part of the copy. The copy also reflects the magnification factor, window level, and other modifications currently applied to the source.
  - Exporting a series as a movie
    You can create a MPEG-4 video file from a series.
  - Exporting a single image
    You can use drag a single image from an Image area viewport to export it.
  - Keyboard shortcuts: Image area
    Image area keyboard shortcuts provide quick access to common tools.
  - Clinical sidebar overview
    Use the Clinical sidebar to navigate between series and key images or between images from the current and comparison studies, and to easily access relevant image information.
- Calibrating images
  Calibration refers to how image information is translated from on-screen pixels to real-world measurements. You can calibrate images with the calibration line and the calibration circle tool.
- Showing and hiding patient demographics
  Study images can be displayed with or without patient demographics.
- Hanging protocols, presentation groups, and viewports
  A hanging protocol is a logical set of instructions for displaying the images in a study. Hanging protocols contain one or more presentation groups, and each presentation group contains one or more viewports.
- Image information
  Information about study images, such as patient demographics, CAD SR markers, and image type, can be viewed in the Image area.
- Snapshots: Concepts
  An image snapshot stores the state of images in the Image area and allows you to return the Image area to the same state later.
- Configuring the display of ECG overlays
  XA images can contain overlays that can be configured to be shown or hidden.
- Key images
  Key images identify the most clinically relevant images in a series.
- Mammography
  The Image area provides mammography-specific functionality.
- Measurements and annotations (markups)
  Image area Markup tools calibrate images, take measurements, and highlight and annotate areas with arrows or text. You can also hide, modify, or delete markups.
- Navigate images
  You have many options for navigating through the images in a study.
- Panning and zooming images
  Adjust the position and the magnification factor of images.
- Rotating images
  You can adjust study images that are not correctly oriented by applying the appropriate Rotation or Flip tool.
- 3D visualization
  Volume rendering visualizes 2D slice images as a 3D volume. Tools—including free rotation, color-coded enhancement of intensities, and clipping plane sliders—provide advanced decision-making support.
- 3D synchronization
  The 3D sync tool provides 3D synchronization of two or more series without changing the layout or applying a new hanging protocol. 3D synchronization aligns multiple series in one space.
- Volume segmentation
  The Image area volume segmentation tools allow you to define structures that have to be measured, as well as to define structures to be hidden or to visually enhance specific parts within a volume.
- Reconstruction
  CPR reconstructs curved planes defined by a longitudinal axis. MPR reconstructs axial, coronal, sagittal, or oblique views from slices in any of these planes.
- Multi 3D
  Multi 3D series consist of slice image data acquired at multiple points over time. You can scroll through or automatically play back multi 3D series.
- Comparison studies
  Comparison studies contain prior imaging to provide a full patient history.
- Window level
  Enterprise Imaging includes functionality that enables you to adjust the brightness and contrast of an image for diagnostic viewing or to better visualize images by applying a color schema.
- Selecting an SUV calculation method
  Three Standard uptake values (SUV) calculation methods are available for PT images: body weight (SUVbw), body surface area (SUVbsa), and lean body mass (SUVlbm).
- Nuclear medicine: Applying color palettes
  With specific color lookup tables stored as window level presets, you can highlight certain features of a grayscale NM/PET study. You can further adjust the display with the nuclear medicine color bar.
- Splitting multi-phasic CT series
  To split a series that contains multiple phases into several series that each contain one phase, use the Split series tool.
- Presentation states
  A presentation state is a set of display attributes that you apply to an image. You can save and load presentation states.
- TOMTEC IMAGE-COM integrations: Concepts
  The integration of IMAGE-COM, a cardiology study viewer powered by TOMTEC Imaging Systems, into Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging extends the functionality of the Image area with additional analytical tools and features.
- Displaying Riverain ClearRead CT results
  You can view chest CT studies, including vessel suppressed images and details on detected lung nodules, from ClearRead CT. The details can include image overlays (presentation states), summary series, or report series.
- Displaying Riverain ClearRead Xray results
  You can view X-ray studies processed by ClearRead Xray. The views displayed include bone suppressed, enhanced, and comparison images.
- Displaying Lunit INSIGHT CXR results
  You can view chest radiography studies processed by Lunit INSIGHT CXR.
- Displaying Lunit INSIGHT MMG results
  You can view mammography studies processed by Lunit INSIGHT MMG.
- MUSICA: Improving contrast and detail in Agfa CR/DR images
  Improve the contrast and detail in CR/DR images through MUSICA settings. MUSICA is an enhanced processing algorithm.

You can keep track of the total amount of radiation a patient has received.
Performing quality control
Quality control is a process of aligning the data about patients with their images, which come from different sources. Quality control is an automatic step in the unverified study workflow, but it can also be performed manually.
Accessing desktop integrations from client desktops
You can access and use third-party applications that are integrated with Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging from client desktops.
Finding studies
To find studies, use either the simple or the advanced search interface.
Customizing the desktop look and feel options
Define Collaborator, list, and search options at the user, desktop, or system level.
Maintaining security and access
In Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging, sets of access-controlled features are combined into permission sets. One or more permission sets are included security roles. Security roles are assigned to users.
Troubleshooting: Log files and known limitations
Use system log files supplied with Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging for basic troubleshooting.

Use the keyboard shortcuts for quick access to your everyday tasks.
Testing the connection speed
Your administrator might ask you to communicate the bandwidth and latency values to optimize the configuration for your workstation in Administrator desktop.

Indications for use statement
Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging and related viewing applications have specific indications for use.

Deleting a seriesTopic number: 1516213718575

Unless the study is protected, you can permanently delete a whole series from within the Image area.

Prerequisite

The following conditions must be met to delete a series:

The selected image is not shown in a fusion viewport.
The selected image is not protected.
The study of the selected image is loaded from the local archive. For images from an external archive, teaching file archive, or when loaded from a file, the entry is not shown.
The series was not dragged in from the key images panel of the clinical sidebar.
The key images hanging protocol is not applied.

If you permanently delete a whole series of images, all images of that stack are deleted at once. If the stack is part of a multi 3D series, only the corresponding sub-series is deleted.

You cannot delete a series while you are performing quality control operations.

To delete a series

In the Image area, right-click the image to delete and select Delete > Series.
The following dialog is displayed:

In order to complete the deletion of the series you must select one of the following options as your reason for deletion:

Custom reason

Important!

In order to select a custom reason for deletion, the reason must be at least five characters in length. If not, the Delete option is disabled until a valid reason is entered.

The following three messages can also be displayed in the dialog if the series you are deleting meets the criteria being described:

The current image is part of a multiframe object. Be aware that <number> image(s) from the <series name> will be deleted
The current image is part of multiple series. Be aware that it will be deleted from all of the following series: <series name>
The current image is the last remaining image of this study. This will not delete the study. To permanently remove the study, contact your administrator.

Once a valid reason for deletion has been provided, click Delete.

The corresponding images are removed from the Image area as well as the PACS server.
