Fusion overviewTopic number: 1425411573934

The fusion feature allows you to combine two images by blending them over each other and displaying the results in a separate viewport.

WARNING!

Do not use the software as the sole basis for surgical planning—the preparation, execution, or post-operative assessment of surgical procedures. The software is designed as a visual aid and as such is not recommended for use in applications where the image geometry or the fused image geometry (as displayed by the software application) cannot be confirmed by other means.

Fusion can be started by selecting a fusion hanging protocol from any volumetric dataset registered to another dataset.

The fusion viewport combines the viewed data of the referenced study and floating datasets by using three different blending modes: Alpha, Superimposing, and Checkerboard.

  1. Alpha—Allows you to do a smooth blending of the reference dataset and the floating dataset; this is the default blending mode.
  2. Superimposing—Allows you to fade out one dataset while the other one is superimposed.
  3. Checkerboard—Allows you to blend both datasets into a group of squares, where one dataset is displayed in the dark squares and the other in the clear squares.

You can select and adjust each blending mode from the context menu in Xtend or the fusion series toolbar. You can use the Alpha blending slider to adjust the composition of an image in a fusion viewport.
