You can create and edit a mask for volume segmentation using the magnetic lasso tool.
The volume segmentation tools are available only when at least one volumetric series with a built volume is present in the current presentation group. This can be achieved, for example, by selecting a MPR hanging protocol, or by switching the render type of one of the given viewports to MPR or 3D.
- On a CT volume dataset, in the Clinical sidebar, click
Volume segmentation.
- To remove bone structures or fragments, click the Bone removal button or Bone fragment removal button. Clicking the button again displays the removed bone structures or fragments.
- To create a mask, select .
A mask is created and the contouring precharge mode is active. The mask is selected per default.
- To place a contour, drag the mouse.
Intersect point are added automatically by the tool or can be added manually by a click. A contour can only be placed within a single image or on an MPR plane.

To remove an intersect point, click on the point.

To close a single contour, double-click with the left mouse button.

To finish, double-click with the left mouse button.

To cancel, right-click or press the Esc key.
