Printing DICOM data Topic number: 1425411886880

You can print DICOM data for one or more studies.

To print DICOM data
  1. Do one of the following:
    • Right-click a study in the List or Search area and select Print > Print and export. Print and export
    • In the List or Text area, select More > Print > Print and export. Print and export
    • Right-click in the Image area and select Print and export.
  2. Switch to the DICOM printing tab.
  3. Clear the checkboxes of any studies you do not want to print.

If you select multiple studies, the selected options apply to all of them.

  4. Select the scope.
    • Study—Export the entire study
    • Key images—From the list, clear the checkboxes of any keyword categories that are not relevant
    • Tagged images or series—Tag images or series of your choice.

This option is available only if you selected the Print and export command from the Image area.

The Reset button clears all previous tags, allowing you to tag other images or series.

  5. From the Printer, Printer preset, Orientation, and other lists, select the appropriate print options.

    Note that:

    • Printer preset applies predefined settings such as modality type, window width, and window level. For example, if you select a specific modality type when creating the preset, then this preset is used when images of that modality are selected.
    • Film size options are available only when the True size checkbox is cleared.
    • Film layout defines the way images are laid out on a film. For example, you can select a layout that divides a print into four rows per page, with each of these rows containing three images. The layout for the procedure definition is used if present. If that does not exist, the film layout defaults to modality type, then to System settings.
    • Number of films is calculated automatically.

  6. Select or clear the Hide demographics checkbox, depending on whether you want to print patient demographics.
  7. Select or clear the True size checkbox. When selected, the compatible film layout is selected, such as Standard\1,1. This enables images to be printed at their actual size.

    WARNING!

True size printing requires correct printing configuration. Wrong printer settings can lead to incorrect measurements and might jeopardize patient safety. DICOM printers must be configured by a PACS administrator or an Agfa representative.
  8. If you will be performing more export actions, click Print.

The export action starts immediately and a checkmark appears. The checkmark does not mean that the export was successful; it means only that an export action was triggered in that tab. If the export fails, an error message is displayed.

  9. When done, click Print & close.
