Issue

When searching an external device, such as a PACS archive or a DVD with images, Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging is not providing accurate results.

Details

While searching an external device, the information retrieved follows the DICOM 3.0-2009 standard. According to this standard, some information is stored in (R) required tags, and some in (O) optional ones. Modalities must support the required tags, but not the optional ones.

The default search fields in Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging are limited to information stored in the required tags. However, customized search fields could cover information from the optional tags. If these custom fields are used with a modality that does not support the optional tag, the search results are inaccurate.

Solution

Before you search an external device using customized search fields, particularly those involving optional tags, ensure that the external location uses modalities that supports these.
