Understanding projection methodsTopic number: 1425412698801

Curved planes can be visualized with three distinct projection methods.

You can change the projection method for a CPR view in the CPR panel of the series toolbar.

Projection methods a, b, and c

Projection methodDescription
Projected (a)The curved plane is projected onto the view plane.
Stretched (b)The curved plane is stretched for display in the view plane.
Straightened (c)The full CPR line defining the curved plane is straightened onto the view plane.

Not strictly a projection method, but also toggled in the series toolbar is the CPR display method Cross section. The cross section views show slices from a reconstructed series. These slices are orthogonal to the CPR line, and the first and last slice of the series correspond to the beginning and the end of the CPR line.
