Displaying a series as a 3D volumeTopic number: 1425412680049

Volume rendering visualizes 2D slice images as a 3D volume.

WARNING!

3D and MPR tools must not be used for radiology diagnosis. These tools are provided to support decision-making, but final conclusions always have to be made based on the original slices.
To display a series as a 3D volume
  1. To open the series toolbar, move your pointer to the bottom center of the viewport containing the series to display in 3D.
  2. In the series toolbar, click the current viewport type (for example 2D, MPR), then click 3D.

The series is displayed as a 3D volume after a short computation time (indicated by a progress bar).

Alternatively, you can select a hanging protocol with 3D from the hanging protocol gallery, in which case by default the largest volumetric series in the current study will be displayed as a 3D volume.

Note:

Due to possible limitations (workstation hardware, dataset size) some volumes will be displayed with reduced quality. This is indicated by a warning symbol in the bottom left corner of the viewport.
