Lists provide users with a way to organize their daily tasks so that they can work through them more quickly and easily.
To do lists
Each activities overview has a To do list. This task list for most users provides a prioritized overview of all tasks still to be performed that are assigned to you or to your task assignment groups, per configured assignment rules. Security rules determine who has permissions to do a task. In To do list, under Details, are task lists. To unselect this list and filter its tasks out of the To do list, clear the checkbox beside any task list.
The same task can be included in multiple task lists. Therefore, the total tasks in all task lists in Details can be higher than the number of tasks in the To do list.
![]() | Note: Each STAT task is marked with an icon, and the total number of STAT tasks is displayed at the top of every list you work through. |
Default sorting of the To do list
- By default, tasks appear in the To do list in the same sequence as the task lists that are listed in Details. First, you get all tasks from the first task list in the sorting order of that task list, then all tasks from the second task list, and so forth. The order of the task lists within Details is defined in the activities overview configuration. The sorting of the tasks within a task list is defined in the task list configuration.
- Tasks that appear in multiple task lists in Details are only displayed once in the To do list, according to the position in the task list with the highest sort order in the activities overview.
![]() | Note: Ad hoc sorting of lists by clicking on a column header changes the displayed order of tasks, and can make the most urgent tasks appear further down on your task lists. You can bring back the original order by clicking Restore. |
Task lists are updated automatically
An automatic update mechanism ensures that a task list is always up to date. New tasks are added to the task lists that match the defined criteria. Tasks are removed automatically when they do not match the task list criteria anymore. Task information is updated when the task priority, the task status, the person assigned to it, or the linked studies are modified. Incoming tasks, such as a new reading task, are placed and sorted within the feeds according to the defined search criteria and sorting.
Example: The list is sorted on task priority descending: the tasks with STAT priority appear first in the list, followed by tasks with urgent priority, then high priority, and so on. If a new STAT task comes in, it appears after the existing STAT tasks in the list, but before the urgent tasks.
The following lists and list elements are updated automatically when tasks are added, removed, or modified:
- The To do list
- The task lists that comprise your To do list
- The task lists that make up your Follow-up section
- The task counts showing the total number of tasks for both selected and unselected lists, and the number of STAT tasks
- The list of tasks you are working through in the Text area
New tasks are not automatically added to or removed from the list of tasks in the Text area when you start a selection of tasks. Also, when searching for tasks in the Search area, the list of tasks is not automatically updated.
Individual tasks are updated when viewing them in the Text area.
When you are looking at a study with a task linked to it, and somebody else either modifies the task priority, task status, the assigned person, or procedure list, you are notified and the information is updated.
