Orders: ConceptsTopic number: 1425411783129
An order is a request received from a physician to have one or more imaging procedures performed. Orders are linked to patients, and can be prioritized, scheduled, and have attachments such as referral letters.
Creating orders
You can create orders only for existing patients.
Screen display
The order screen always shows the patient banner, patient information, and order information. Toolbar options and the possibility to edit fields depend on permissions. For example, if you do not have permission to edit an order, the action toolbar contains no editing commands and fields are read-only.
Prioritizing and scheduling
Orders are assigned different priorities.
Icon | Priority | Description |
---|---|---|
![]() | STAT! |
Highest priority. This order must receive immediate attention. |
![]() | Urgent | Second highest priority |
![]() | High | Third highest priority |
No icon | Normal |
Default |
![]() | Routine (or Low) | Lowest priority |
![]() | Note: The order priority values can be customized by your administrator and can differ from the set of default ones. |
Orders can then be sent to and performed by technologists according to priority. For scheduling, you can specify the exact room or department to perform the procedure.
Order attachments
You can link to an order text, keyword, hyperlink, PDF, image, and voice clip attachments, as well as scanned orders, questionnaires, and brochures.
The list of possible attachment types is configured by your administrator.
Documents
If a procedure in the order has a procedure plan with prescribed documents, these documents are automatically displayed in the Document table on the Order edit page. The documents prescribed in the procedure plan, such as brochures, appointment letters, illustrations, questionnaires, and e-questionnaires, are configured by your administrator. You can print and hand out the documents to patients and upload new versions of these documents. Also, you can complete and submit e-questionnaires.
You can add additional documents to the procedure.
