Quality control is a process of aligning the data about patients with their images, which come from different sources. Quality control is an automatic step in the unverified study workflow, but it can also be performed manually.

Performing quality control
Quality control is a process of aligning the data about patients with their images, which come from different sources. Quality control is an automatic step in the unverified study workflow, but it can also be performed manually.
- Quality control: Concepts
  Quality control is a process of aligning the patient order information with the images that come from different sources. It also includes reassigning or deleting studies for billing and cleanup purposes.
- Creating a QC task
  Create a QC task to assign a quality control task for the selected study or studies to yourself or to another person.
- Starting a QC task
  You can start a QC task from a task list (To do list), from a list of search results, or from the Text area.
- Fixing or merging a study
  Manually fixing studies aligns patient and order information with unverified images. Merging images assembles multiple studies that belong to one patient.
- Splitting a study
  Split a study that contains images belonging to multiple patients, orders, or procedures. This requires moving some of the images to other orders or procedures.
- Segmenting a study
  Images from one patient can be segmented into multiple procedures for the same patient. Segmenting is often needed in sectional imaging to reduce the exposure of the patient to radiation, and for billing and reporting purposes.
- Deleting studies
  Delete a study if, for example, its images are low-quality and have to be re-sent from the modality.
- Protecting a study
  If a study is of particular interest, you can protect it against deletion.
- Verifying a report
  If late images arrive for a study with a validated report or a quality control operation is performed for this study, a verify report task is created. Check the report to ensure that it is still valid.
Accessing desktop integrations from client desktops
You can access and use third-party applications that are integrated with Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging from client desktops.
Finding studies
To find studies, use either the simple or the advanced search interface.
Customizing the desktop look and feel options
Define Collaborator, list, and search options at the user, desktop, or system level.
Maintaining security and access
In Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging, sets of access-controlled features are combined into permission sets. One or more permission sets are included security roles. Security roles are assigned to users.

Use system log files supplied with Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging for basic troubleshooting.

Indications for use statement
Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging and related viewing applications have specific indications for use.

You can start a QC task from a task list (To do list), from a list of search results, or from the Text area.

To start a QC task

Do one of the following:

From the List area, start any task, or open a study. From the Text area toolbar, select More > QC task > Start QC task.
From the To do list, select the QC tasks feed (if it is configured in your Activities overview pane) to display all QC tasks assigned to you. Then, right-click the study and select QC task > Start QC task.
Whether QC tasks appear in your To do list depends on the task assignment group you belong to.
Click Search and find studies to perform QC tasks on.
Then, right-click the study and select QC task > Start QC task.

The QC task page opens. From the QC action list, select the action to apply.

If you start a QC task for a study that is linked to a multi-procedure acquisition task, the study is automatically unlinked from this task and no longer associated with the images from the main study. If a QC task is started for the main study in a multi-procedure acquisition task, all other studies are automatically unlinked from this multi-procedure acquisition task.

Important!

Starting QC tasks for studies linked to multi-procedure reports is possible only for studies with a non-validated report, and only while performing a reading task in the Text area.

For studies linked to validated multi-procedure reports, you must undo sign-off of the report before you can start a QC task.

Required permissions:

Depending on the type of QC task that you perform, you need the following permissions:

Can delete images and perform QC delete
Can perform QC fix/merge
Can perform QC segment
Can perform QC split
