Deleting studiesTopic number: 1425414628132

Delete a study if, for example, its images are low-quality and have to be re-sent from the modality.

Note:

If you intend to delete the end results of a series of QC operations and then resend the original images from the modality, do not delete the results. Deleting and resending images does not work in Enterprise Imaging 8.1 and later. Enterprise Imaging will not accept the re-sent images.

Refer to “Troubleshooting: Cannot restore DICOM data after deleting the results of a series of QC operations” (topic number 1520961955077) in the Administrator Desktop Help.

To delete studies
  1. From a search result or task list, right-click the studies whose images are to be deleted and select QC task > Delete all images. Not available

    Tip:

If you do not have permission to delete images, you can create a QC task for someone who does.
  2. In the Confirmation dialog, type a reason for the deletion.
  3. Click Delete.
Unless protected, the studies are deleted. (If protected, you get an error message stating why the study cannot be deleted.) For unscheduled studies, the order information and any existing attachments are also removed. If your administrator configured the verify review workflow, then, for studies with a validated report, a verify report task is created. For studies with a not validated report, a task comment appears saying to verify the report content.

Required permissions: Can delete images and perform QC delete.

(For more on permissions, see Security roles: Concepts.)
