To give adequate patient treatment in emergency cases, users require access to patient health information (PHI) which they normally do not have access to. This requires the activation of emergency access.
Activating emergency access disables the configured security filters, allowing users to view all PHI data that is not restricted by security. However, the configured security permissions remain applicable.
To enable and disable emergency access

- Type your password.
If the password field is already completed, continue with step 3.
- Specify the reason for the emergency access request.
This field is mandatory.
- Click OK.
The menu bar appears highlighted.
Note:
During emergency access, the logging level of user actions is increased, allowing the system administrator to trace which actions are performed in emergency access mode. - To disable emergency access when patient treatment is complete, select

Emergency access is also disabled when exiting the application or logging off.
CAUTION!
If possible, complete all tasks before deactivating emergency access. Unfinished tasks might not be viewable in your task lists outside emergency access mode.
